Josh Beerman is a playwright, screenwriter, and blogger whose work has been part of the FringeAct Festival of New Work at ACT Theater in Seattle, and Theatre Schmeater’s Northwest Playwrights Competition. His play A Eulogy for Citizen was part of their 2004 season and in 2006 his play Miss America: A Fugue Born in 1969 had it’s premiere there as well. He has directed for the Seattle International Fringe Festival, FringeACT, and the Capitol Hill Arts Center (RIP) in Seattle.
In the New York area he has had work produced at Manhattan Repertory Theatre, been a part of the Samuel French Off Off Broadway Festival in 2010 and was a winner in 2011. His play A History of Kites was produced at Rutgers University as part of their evening of one acts. His plays have been developed by Urban Stages, The Management, and theNEST. He has worked on the artistic staff in casting for Seattle Repertory Theatre, and in Artist Services at The Brooklyn Academy of Music, where he worked with Andre Belgrader, John Tuturro, Patrick Stewart, Ian McKellan, Elaine Stritch, and others.
His screenplay Dark is slated for production by Tandem Pictures in 2015.
